As the only national ecological tourism demonstration plot in Xiamen City, Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park possesses abundant primeval forest cover with a coverage rate of 96.8% and extremely high negative oxygen ions. With a total planning area of 37.05 square kilometers, Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park is a tourism and leisure resort integrating various functions including leisure, health preservation, recreational sports, science popularization, sightseeing and entertainment.
Yuanyangxi Grand Canyon, known as “the most beautiful and tranquil grand canyon in southern Fujian”, is covered with numerous flowers and trees and boasts one of the most popular scenic spots in Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park. With an overall length of nearly 3 kilometers, the Grand Canyon features high forest coverage and accommodates over 1,600 animal and plant species. The springs in the Canyon contains microelements necessary to the human body such as strontium, and the spring water is drinkable directly.
The 4.3 kilometers long Tianzhushan Ring Lake Wooden Trestle is the longest ring lake wooden trestle in China at present. Walking along the Wooden Trestle, visitors will see the shimmering Tianzhu Lake, Liang’er Lake and Haoyue Lake, which are just like three bright stars inlaid in the green forest.
The Bamboo Garden is full of over 250 kinds of bamboos available in China, featuring different postures and tourists will feel great interest and fun in it.
It is said that the Zhenji Temple, a millennium ancient temple in Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park, was a place for the Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty tocultivate temperament and take refuge. In addition, many other places of interest such as Longmen Temple, Yulong Bridge, Shuanma Stone and Guibei Rock are also located in Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park.
As the “back garden” of Xiamen City, Tianzhushan has already become an excellent resort for many citizens to experience the slow life.

Taking the Bamboo Garden in the Park as an example, over 250 kinds of bamboos feature different shapes such as square, round, arc-like and spherical types, different bamboo poles such as tortoise shell, Buddha belly, Guanyin, bent and straight,types, and different colors such as purple, green, yellow, yellowish green and greenish yellow types. These bamboos include green bamboo, tall and straight Phyllostachys vivax, golden Phyllostachys viridis, cuddly Buddha bamboo, tortoise shell-shaped Phyllostachys pubescens and precious green Phyllostachys parvifolia.
